Vandalism

Unfortunately our school suffered at the hands of vandals over the weekend. The goalposts and a basketball hoop have been damaged while some litter had been thrown around the yard. Most upsetting of all though was the destruction of the pumpkin plant donated to the school by Lieneke Smyth. 

Lieneke came to the school recently and transplanted the pumpkin plant into our raised bed. She spoke to the children about how to care for the plant and showed them different seeds. Ellen Geeves and Orla Ivors of Fifth Class took responsibility for watering the plant and we were all very excited to see how big the four pumpkins would become. 

Thankfully, for the last few years our school has been relatively vandalism free. Before the Summer holidays however it became clear that people were again trespassing after school and at the weekends and causing damage to our property.

Please report any incidents of trespassing to the school so that we can notify the guards. Our children don't deserve this.
