Class of the Month - May 2018

A great effort by Ms. O'Sullivan's Third and Fourth Class was rewarded with the Class of the Month award for May. Well done to all and enjoy the two nights off homework.

Spikeball Blitz

On May 17th our Fifth and Sixth Class students took part in a Spikeball Blitz organised by Mr Brian Moran and his Transition Year students form the Presentation Secondary School. Our students were divided into four teams and they competed against teams from Drangan, Slieveardagh, Lisnamrock, and Mullinahone. The 'Ballingarry Piggies' won the blitz and brought home the bacon for Our Lady's N.S.

Thank you to all at the Secondary school for a great day and thanks especially to our wonderful coaches lead by former students Anna Ryan and Niamh Mullally.

Basketball - Monroe Blitz

On May 18th Our Lady's N.S. took part in a basketball blitz organised by our coach Liam Fennell. The blitz took place in the wonderful sports hall in Monroe. Our Lady's sent a girls team and a boys team to compete against teams from New Inn and Clonmel. This was the first time a boys basketball team has represented our school so a little piece of history was made.
The standard of basketball was extremely high and both of our teams finished runners up. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we are indebted to Liam for organising it.
Thank you to the parents who brought our young players to Monroe.

Hurling - County Semi-Final

Our Lady's N.S. played Dualla N.S. in the County Semi-Final in Killenaule on Tuesday, May 22nd.
Unfortunately for us Dualla had a blistering start and were three goals up before we settled into the pace of the game. From then on it was far more even but the damage had been done. Dualla went on to win 10-8 to 4-9 but were fought every inch of the way by a gallant Our Lady's side.
