Aladdin Trouble - Ticket Details
We're getting closer to the big night! Or should I say nights? Our Lady's is a hive of panto based activity at the moment. The actors are being put through their paces - a task made all the easier by their enthusiasm and ability to take direction. The set and props are taking shape and the costume department are reporting great progress. As always we are indebted to our wonderful parents and former students for their ever willing support behind the scenes.
In short, we are well on the way to performing 'A Panto Like No Other' (Don't worry, you'll get the reference when you see the show). All we are lacking now is an audience...an integral part of any panto. So make sure that you are there to join in the fun.
Tickets for both nights (March 9th & 10th) will be going on sale soon at €8 for adults and €5 for students. They will be available from Rose in the office. Tickets will be sold in advance and when they're gone...they're gone.
The Parents Council will organise the raffle each night. There will also be a tuck shop for those not off the sweets for Lent.

'The 80's are Back' - A Review
The students of the Senior Room were delighted to have been invited to the Presentation's Transition Year Musical on Friday. Despite not even having being born then, the students were more than willing to go back to the 80's for the afternoon. Here is what they thought.
"Today, 5th and 6th Class went to the Abymill Theatre in Fethard. We went there to see the Presentation Secondary School's 4th Years put on a play. Some past pupils from our school were in it. They were Katie Cleere, Maria McGrath, Jack Kealy, Patrick Walton and Aiden Mullally. It was a great play. The singing, dancing and costumes were all very good. I had a nice day."
- Kealy Maher, 6th Class
"It was well laid out and funny. There were a lot of songs and I knew a few. All our classroom went and they all enjoyed it. Our teacher liked it as well."
- Billy McGrath, 5th Class
The whole way through the show was brilliant. All the actors were amazing. I couldn't believe how good it was considering they put it all together in just three weeks"
- Ali O'Connell, 6th Class
"My favourite part was the Karate one, when Patrick said 'Help me' and a funny voice came up. It was great"
- Vincent Darcy, 6th Class
"While enjoying the awesome play we saw some familiar faces on stage. This musical was really good. I would recommend checking it out"
- Michael Long, 6th Class
There were lots of great songs and great actors. At the end all the cast came off stage and we got to meet them all. It was really good.
- Ellen Geeves, 5th Class
The play was really good. There was a lot going on in it and the songs were good.
- Shane Burns, 6th Class
"The students were very good at acting and weren't shy. I really liked the show because it was funny and sort of realistic."
- Cameron Burke, 5th Class
"My cousin Patrick was in it and he did very well. It was a very good show and it was really funny as well. It was brilliant and I really enjoyed it."
- Kieran Murray, 5th Class

Just a little reminder......
Pancake Tuesday
The day before Pancake Tuesday pupils from our class were called to make some pancake dough. Emer, Isabelle and I were the last ones out and we made a lot of pancake dough. We got 1200ml of milk, four eggs and 400 grams of flour I think. We put them all together and put it in the mixer. The next day i was very excited. 5th class was called out. As we got to the parents room where the pancakes where the smell loomed everywhere. We sat down and was asked what we wanted on our pancakes. I had asked for chocolate on mine. We we each got sheets and then the pancakes came! The pancakes were very nice and when we finished we thanked the parents. We went back to our room and the it was the 6th class turn!

Writers of the Month - January
In a bid to further improve the standard of penmanship in Our Lady's N.S. Ms O'Sullivan announced the inaugural winners of the Writer of the Month Award. Each month the student from each class who has paid the most attention to their handwriting and presentation will receive a certificate to acknowledge their efforts. Well done to the January winners pictured above.
Class of the Month - January
Third and Fourth Class made a great start to the New Year and got their first 'Class of the Month' win under their belt. Everybody noticed the huge improvement Ms O'Sullivan's charges made in their lines and this coupled with their customary good behaviour in class secured the win.
Class of the Month - December
First and Second Class picked up their second 'Class of the Month' award in December. With all the excitement about Christmas we forgot to post the picture! Mrs O'Dea's Class were deserved winners and they enjoyed their two nights off homework when the rest of us were slogging away in January.

Credit Union Schools Quiz
Well done to our quiz team who performed so well at the Credit Union Schools Quiz on Friday last (Jan 29th.) in the Premier Hall in Thurles. Thank you also to the parents who brought the students and supported them on the night. The team, captained by Emma Murray consisted of Kealy Maher, Michael Blake and Fionn O'Brien. They didn't finish in the top three but their score of 51 points ensured that they weren't too far off.
